History
Annoor Islamic School was established in the spring of 1989. Muslims of Wichita, with the active participation of the community, responded to the imperative need for safeguarding our children by opening a full-time Islamic school. The seed for the full-time Annoor Islamic School began to germinate in 1996, when twelve dedicated families answered the call to begin a new era in Wichita’s history. That day Annoor Islamic School (AIS) started as a one-classroom school covering preschool and consisting of 12 students. Alhamdulillah, AIS is nationally accredited for preschool through 12th grade! Insha’ Allah, we will continue to grow.
Accreditation
Annoor Islamic School is accredited through one of the most prestigious accreditation agencies, Cognia. The Cognia review team has not only approved our school for accreditation for 2021-2026 but ranked AIS above average for accredited schools in the nation. This is a huge honor and a great milestone in the history of Annoor Islamic School. AIS received the Governor’s Achievement Award in 2012. This was awarded by The Kansas State Board of Education for excellence in reading and math, and being in the top 5% of elementary schools
